about

"A Score for Lost Words" is an experimental soundtrack for personal exploration and integration.

*******

I’ve been through the fire.

I clutched those sacred parts of myself tightly, wrapped only in my pride and some layers of skin. I stepped into the fire.

Flames licked up my legs, caressing my hips, searching out my softness. The hot coals spurred my feet onward and left blackened reminders upon my knees where I stumbled.

After a time, it was necessary to breathe. And so I inhaled the fire deeply, drawing it past my lungs, beyond my heart, into my soul. I sang in cinders and danced through trails of ash. I was fire.

And just as I feared I had established my kingdom amongst my ashen subjects, my throne of embers, and gown of scarlet…

… I emerged at the other side, into the luscious living green, wearing boldly my sacred parts, and the purest light filled my eyes.

I am of the fire.
